I wrote some SEGA Mega Drive music using the Deflemask tracker. 32s long loop.
I wrote this piece in preparation for the next podcast episode of ComposerCast. In the episode I’m editing at the moment, we talked a little bit about the SEGA Mega Drive and how it compares to the SNES. The Mega Drive has 5 FM synthesis channels and the 6th channel can be used for playing back samples. You can hear a bass drum and snare on this track that I pitched down. This is a bit different from the SNES that was all sample based and allowed composers a lot of freedom, only really limited by the space. Now we’re in an age when you can emulate any instrument you want on a device in your pocket!
