The Nathan McCree Challenge

This week’s Music Weeklies challenge was set by the Tomb Raider composer Nathan McCree. The challenge was to “make an in-game music tune for a Stealth Assassin Endless Runner game. The tune must loop seamlessly with no clicks or gaps.”

My inspiration came from a number of different video game soundtracks including Alto’s Odyssey, Alone, Fotonica, and Hitman 2. I created the loop by taking part of the intro and placing it at the end of the track so the reverb tails blend seamlessly together. Originally there was a 2 bar intro but I had to chop it in half to make the track loop perfectly. The Music Weeklies challenge is a great way to practice writing new music and have a deadline to push you. Follow them on Twitter and join me in the next one!
