Overview

This is how the track would sound on the Gameboy, in stereo, with the sample channel removed. I think to be able to use a tracker successfully, you have to delve into the history of video game music and understand the capabilities of each console. This piece is written for the NES and Gameboy so it contains 2 square channels, 1 triangle, 1 noise and 1 sample channel. For use on the Gameboy, I’d have to remove the sample channel but I would be able to output in stereo rather than mono like the NES.

The thing that keeps throwing me off is the triangle wave channel. Triangle waves can either be on or off and that’s it. So whenever I go into the volume macro box trying to edit the sound, it always takes me a second to remember that it does nothing except make the note shorter.
